INTERPRETER SIGNUP FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
REGISTERING AS AN INTERPRETER
INTERPRESOURCE IS NOT AN AGENCY
Interpresource provides interpreter recruitment and administration for Public Services and corporate clients throughout the UK.
These organisations use Interpresource in conjunction with their own list of interpreters, combined with other official lists (NRPSI etc) to generate a shortlist of available interpreters for a given assignment.
Interpresource does however maintain a list of semi-professional and non-professional interpreters who may be contacted by our clients as and when necessary.
PROFESSIONAL INTERPRETERS
Interpreters who have a nationally-recognised qualification in interpreting (NRPSI, ITI etc) are automatically included by our clients and do not need to register with Interpresource.
SEMI-PROFESSIONAL INTERPRETERS
Interpreters who are studying for a nationally-recognised qualification in interpreting can register as a local interpreter with Interpresource.
NON-PROFESSIONAL INTERPRETERS
Anyone who speaks good English as well as being fluent in their mother tongue can register as a local interpreter with Interpresource. Interpreters with an English Proficiency qualification will have an improved chance of being shortlisted, but this is not compulsory.
After you have completed the INTERPRETER SIGNUP page, your contact details will remain live on Interpresource for one year.
Each of our clients has a geographical catchment area for their local interpreters.
If your postcode is within their catchment area and they do not have a sufficient quota of interpreters in the specific language, Interpresource will provide your contact details.
The client will then contact you directly for an interview etc.
NOTE that fees are fixed in line with local or national agreements and you will never be asked to negotiate your rate.
Please do not contact Interpresource for work and please do not send us your CV, we are not an Agency
